Students integrate theory and hands-on skills during in-depth internships, which provide more than 1050 total hours of practical experience in the field. As an MSW student you can be placed at more than 500 social services or healthcare organizations and institutions.
You will complete two field practicum placements—one in the foundation year of the MSW program, and the second in your advanced year. The first placement focuses on developing basic social work skills, while the second allows you to hone specific practical skills in your chosen concentration and specialization.
During your field practica you will be supported by the School of Social Work’s Office of Field Education, which will help you identify placement sites that match your professional goals and interests.
More than 500 human service and social change organizations provide internship and training opportunities for Social Work students.
